The following links contain information that has been researched and written by the Sixth grade students of Chicora Elementary School.
The Karns City School district received a Digital Grassroots Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to fund the KC PRIDE (Petroleum Refinery Industry Development Education) project.
| Project Overview | The KC PRIDE project was developed to research the history of our area concentrating on the influence of the oil boom. Students in grades 6-12 have been researching, interviewing, and creating web pages about the unique history of our area. |

The sixth grade students at Chicora Elementary visited the
Butler Public Library to gather research. The students found a lot
of valuable resources in the genealogy department. A special thanks
to Luanne R. Eisler, the Genealogist at Butler Public Library.
